The 5th International Conference on Innovations in Social Sciences, Education and Engineering (ICoISSEE-5) took place in Bandung, Indonesia, on Saturday, July 26, 2025. The event brought together researchers, educators, and professionals to share knowledge and experiences across the fields of social sciences, education, and engineering.
Two keynote speakers from Can Tho University, Vietnam—Dr. Thai Cong Dan and Dr. Nguyen Thi Be Ba—delivered presentations focused on tourism education and research. Their talks also featured work from the ECOViP project(Fostering Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Ecotourism to Support Sustainable Development in Vietnam and the Philippines), which was co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.
ECOViP aimed to promote sustainable development by encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship in ecotourism. It involved collaboration between the EU and six universities—three from the Philippines and three from Vietnam. Can Tho University was one of the key Vietnamese partners. The project also focused on integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into education and training.
The inclusion of ECOViP at ICoISSEE-5 highlighted the value of international academic cooperation and emphasized the importance of preparing students and educators to contribute to sustainable tourism and regional development.
