LPU Batangas: Lyceans develop sustainable tourism solutions at ECOViP Business Plan Competition

A wave of innovation swept through the LPU-Batangas Main Campus on June 10, 2024, as lyceans eagerly participated in the EcoVIP Business Plan Competition.  

The ECOViP Business Plan competition challenged them to develop comprehensive business plans for eco-tourism ventures, promoting responsible tourism practices within the picturesque province of Batangas. 

The competition served as a platform for students to showcase their creativity and unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship. Well-researched and meticulously crafted business plans for eco-tourism ventures were presented, highlighting various facets of sustainable tourism. Proposals encompassed responsible waste management practices, fostering active engagement with local communities, and ensuring the preservation of natural habitats and cultural heritage. 

The esteemed judges were particularly impressed by the winning team, comprised of:

Their innovative eco-tourism business plan stood out for its well-defined strategies that promote sustainable practices while simultaneously celebrating the unique charm of Batangas.  

This prestigious win grants the team the honor of representing LPU-Batangas at a larger competition in July. They will compete against representatives from other ECOVIP’s partner universities in the Philippines and Vietnam, showcasing their eco-tourism vision on a wider international stage. 

The EcoVIP Business Plan Competition serves as a testament to LPU-Batangas’ unwavering dedication to cultivating environmental awareness and fostering an entrepreneurial spirit among its students. This initiative empowers students to become active participants in shaping a more sustainable future for the tourism industry within Batangas and beyond.
