On October 12, 2024, the University of Science held the launching ceremony of the Ecotourism Hub Startup Space, developed within the framework of the Ecotourism Space Creation Work Package (WP8) of the Ecovip project “Promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of ecotourism to support sustainable development in Vietnam and the Philippines”.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the tourism business partners of the Thai Nguyen University of Science, representatives of the leaders of relevant faculties, departments, centers and the ECOViP Project Management Board.
Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Chu Thanh Huy, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism, emphasized the importance of developing a startup space in the context of ecotourism becoming a key field supporting sustainable development. He also affirmed that the TNUS Ecotourism Startup Space will be a place to nurture creative startup projects of students, and at the same time, a bridge between the school, businesses and society.
At the launching ceremony, Dr. Truong Phuc Hung - Director of the Center for Technology Innovation and Technology Transfer, the unit directly managing this space, shared that the ecotourism startup space at TNUS is an important part of the university's startup and innovation development strategy and hopes that with this environment, students, lecturers and businesses will have more opportunities to cooperate, exchange and implement creative startup ideas in the field of ecotourism.
After the speech, delegates, guests and students visited the startup space and directly experienced the features of the ecotourism startup website. This promises to be an ideal destination for students who love creativity and startups in the field of ecotourism, actively contributing to the sustainable development goals of the ECOViP project.
